JURISDICTION AND SUPPLIER CONDITIONS:
Primate Journeys Africa operates within the legal jurisdiction of Uganda and all travel arrangements are subject to the laws and regulations of Uganda. Clients acknowledge that travel services, including but not limited to accommodation, transportation, and activities, may be provided by third-party suppliers such as airlines, hotels, tour operators, and transportation companies. Each supplier may have its own terms and conditions governing the provision of services, which clients are bound to adhere to during the course of their travel arrangements. Clients are responsible for familiarizing themselves with and complying with the terms and conditions of each supplier. Primate Journeys Africa acts only as an intermediary between clients and suppliers and shall not be held liable for any disputes, breaches, or issues arising between clients and suppliers. Any claims or grievances regarding the services provided by suppliers must be directed to the respective supplier. Primate Journeys Africa reserves the right to modify or cancel bookings, itineraries, or arrangements in accordance with the terms and conditions of its suppliers, as well as any unforeseen circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to weather conditions, natural disasters, or changes in local regulations. By booking with Primate Journeys Africa, clients agree to abide by the terms and conditions of both Primate Journeys Africa and its suppliers, as applicable. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of suppliers may result in additional charges, penalties, or denial of services.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK AND BEHAVIOUR:
Clients acknowledge that travel inherently involves certain risks and uncertainties, including but not limited to accidents, illness, injury, and unforeseen events. Clients agree to conduct themselves in a responsible and respectful manner throughout the duration of their travel arrangements, including interactions with fellow travelers, local communities, and wildlife. Clients must adhere to all safety guidelines, instructions, and regulations provided by Primate Journeys Africa, its representatives, and any third-party suppliers involved in the provision of services. Clients understand that participation in certain activities, such as wildlife safaris, adventure sports, and outdoor excursions, may involve inherent risks and dangers, and agree to assume full responsibility for their own safety and well-being during such activities. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage suffered by clients as a result of their failure to comply with safety guidelines, instructions, or regulations, or as a result of their own reckless or negligent behavior.
ACCURACY AND PRICING:
Primate Journeys Africa endeavors to provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding prices, itineraries, and other travel-related details. However, clients acknowledge that prices and availability are subject to change without notice due to factors beyond the control of Primate Journeys Africa, including fluctuations in exchange rates, changes in government taxes or fees, and adjustments made by third-party suppliers. All prices quoted by Primate Journeys Africa are based on current tariffs, exchange rates, and other relevant factors at the time of booking. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of pricing information, clients understand that final prices may vary depending on factors such as seasonality, availability, and specific client requirements. Any additional charges, fees, or expenses incurred during the course of travel arrangements, including but not limited to optional activities, meals, and personal purchases, are the responsibility of the client and must be settled directly with the relevant supplier. Clients are advised to carefully review all pricing information provided by Primate Journeys Africa and to seek clarification on any discrepancies or uncertainties before confirming their booking. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any inaccuracies or discrepancies in pricing information provided to clients.
BOOKING AND PAYING FOR YOUR ARRANGEMENTS:
All bookings made with Primate Journeys Africa are subject to availability and confirmation by Primate Journeys Africa. To secure a booking, clients are required to provide a deposit, the amount of which will be specified by Primate Journeys Africa at the time of booking. The deposit amount may vary depending on the nature of the travel arrangements and the specific requirements of the client. The remaining balance of the total booking cost must be paid in full before the commencement of the safari, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by Primate Journeys Africa. Failure to make full payment by the specified deadline may result in the cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the deposit. Payment methods accepted by Primate Journeys Africa may include bank transfer, credit card, or other agreed-upon methods. Any additional fees or charges associated with payment transactions are the responsibility of the client and must be borne by the client. Upon receipt of the required deposit and full payment, Primate Journeys Africa will issue a booking confirmation and any relevant travel documents to the client. It is the responsibility of the client to review the booking confirmation and ensure that all details are correct. Any discrepancies or errors must be reported to Primate Journeys Africa immediately for correction. Clients are advised to review the cancellation policy and terms and conditions of Primate Journeys Africa before making a booking. Cancellation fees may apply in the event of cancellation or changes to the booking, and the amount of refund, if any, will be determined in accordance with the cancellation policy of Primate Journeys Africa and the terms of the service providers involved.
TRAVEL CREDITS:
Primate Journeys Africa may issue travel credits under certain circumstances, such as cancellations or changes to bookings, as determined by Primate Journeys Africa’s policies. Travel credits are non-transferable and may only be used by the original recipient for future travel arrangements booked through Primate Journeys Africa. Travel credits have an expiry date, which will be specified at the time of issuance. It is the responsibility of the client to utilize the travel credits before the expiry date. Expired travel credits will not be eligible for redemption or refund. The value of travel credits may be applied towards the total cost of future travel arrangements booked through Primate Journeys Africa, subject to availability and any additional terms and conditions specified by Primate Journeys Africa. Clients are advised to review the terms and conditions associated with the issuance and redemption of travel credits carefully. Primate Journeys Africa reserves the right to modify or cancel travel credits at any time, without prior notice, at its sole discretion.
SPECIAL REQUESTS:
Primate Journeys Africa endeavors to accommodate special requests made by clients to enhance their travel experience, such as dietary preferences, room preferences, and mobility assistance. While Primate Journeys Africa will make every effort to fulfill special requests, clients understand that such requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Clients are encouraged to notify Primate Journeys Africa of any special requests at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that all special requests are clearly communicated to Primate Journeys Africa in writing. Any additional costs or charges associated with special requests may be incurred by the client and must be settled directly with Primate Journeys Africa or the relevant supplier. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any failure to fulfill special requests due to factors beyond its control, including but not limited to availability, operational constraints, or changes in circumstances.
AGE, FITNESS AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS:
Clients are responsible for ensuring that they possess the necessary physical fitness and medical condition to undertake the activities included in their travel itinerary. Clients with pre-existing medical conditions, disabilities, or special needs must inform Primate Journeys Africa at the time of booking to assess the feasibility of their participation in the safari activities. Primate Journeys Africa may provide information about the physical requirements and health considerations associated with specific activities or destinations. However, clients acknowledge that they are ultimately responsible for determining their own suitability for participation. Clients are advised to consult with their healthcare provider or a qualified medical professional before undertaking any strenuous activities or traveling to remote or high-altitude destinations. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, or medical complications arising from the client’s failure to disclose relevant medical information or to adequately assess their own physical fitness and health condition. Clients participate in safari activities at their own risk.
PASSPORT, VISA AND IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES:
Clients are responsible for ensuring that they possess valid passports, visas, and any other necessary travel documents required for entry into their destination country and transit points. Primate Journeys Africa may provide general information and assistance regarding passport, visa, and immigration requirements based on the client’s nationality and travel itinerary. However, it is the client’s responsibility to verify and comply with the specific entry requirements of each destination. Clients must ensure that their passports are valid for at least six months beyond the intended duration of their stay and have sufficient blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any expenses, losses, or damages incurred by clients due to their failure to comply with passport, visa, or immigration requirements, including but not limited to denied entry, deportation, or travel disruptions. Clients are advised to contact the embassy or consulate of their destination country and consult official government websites for the most up-to-date information on passport, visa, and immigration requirements.
INSURANCE:
Primate Journeys Africa strongly recommends that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen events and emergencies during their travel, including but not limited to trip cancellations, medical emergencies, evacuation, and loss of personal belongings. Travel insurance coverage should include adequate medical coverage, emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellation/interruption, baggage loss/damage, and personal liability. It is the responsibility of the client to purchase travel insurance independently from a reputable insurance provider before the commencement of their travel arrangements. Clients must carefully review the terms, conditions, and coverage limits of their travel insurance policy to ensure that it meets their specific needs and provides adequate protection for the duration and activities of their travel. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any expenses, losses, or damages incurred by clients due to the lack of adequate travel insurance coverage, including but not limited to medical expenses, trip cancellations, or loss of personal belongings.
CONDUCT:
Clients are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner throughout their travel arrangements, including interactions with fellow travelers, local communities, and wildlife. Any form of disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior may result in the immediate termination of the client’s participation in the safari without refund. Clients are required to adhere to all safety guidelines, instructions, and regulations provided by Primate Journeys Africa, its representatives, and any third-party suppliers involved in the provision of services. Clients must respect local customs, traditions, and cultural practices while traveling in Uganda and other destinations. Primate Journeys Africa reserves the right to decline or terminate bookings for clients who fail to comply with these conduct requirements or whose behavior poses a risk to themselves, others, or the environment.
LIABILITY:
Primate Journeys Africa acts only as an intermediary between clients and third-party suppliers, such as airlines, hotels, tour operators, and transportation companies. While Primate Journeys Africa endeavors to ensure the highest standards of service and safety, it shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, or inconvenience arising from the actions or omissions of third-party suppliers or from circumstances beyond its control. Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred by clients due to changes, delays, or cancellations of travel arrangements, including but not limited to accommodation, transportation, or activities. Clients are advised to obtain adequate travel insurance to cover any potential risks or unforeseen events during their travel. Primate Journeys Africa’s liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific travel arrangements, and in no event shall Primate Journeys Africa be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. By booking with Primate Journeys Africa, clients agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Primate Journeys Africa, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from their travel arrangements.
FORCE MAJEURE:
Primate Journeys Africa shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these terms and conditions or for any delay, interruption, or cancellation of services due to force majeure events.
Force majeure events include, but are not limited to, acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, labor disputes, governmental actions, pandemics, epidemics, and any other unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of Primate Journeys Africa.
In the event of a force majeure event that affects the provision of services or the ability of clients to travel, Primate Journeys Africa will make reasonable efforts to mitigate the impact and to provide assistance and support to affected clients.
Clients acknowledge and accept that force majeure events may result in changes to travel arrangements, itinerary modifications, or cancellations, and agree to cooperate with Primate Journeys Africa to find suitable solutions or alternatives.
Primate Journeys Africa shall not be held liable for any additional expenses, losses, or damages incurred by clients as a result of force majeure events, including but not limited to non-refundable deposits, cancellation fees, or penalties imposed by third-party suppliers.
PRIVACY POLICY:
Primate Journeys Africa is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of its clients. The collection, use, and disclosure of personal information provided by clients are governed by Primate Journeys Africa’s privacy policy, which complies with applicable data protection laws and regulations. Clients’ personal information will be used solely for the purpose of providing travel arrangements and related services, and will not be disclosed to third parties without the client’s consent, except as required by law or as necessary for the provision of services. Primate Journeys Africa may collect and use personal information such as names, contact details, passport information, and payment information for the purpose of booking and managing travel arrangements. Clients have the right to access, update, or correct their personal information held by Primate Journeys Africa by contacting the company directly. Primate Journeys Africa takes reasonable measures to safeguard the security and confidentiality of clients’ personal information and to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
SPECIAL NOTE:
For those joining our gorilla tracking safaris, it is important to note that the minimum age for gorilla tracking is 15 years old. Participants must be physically fit and capable of walking through sometimes difficult terrain for extended periods. Proper clothing and footwear are essential, and clients should be prepared for varying weather conditions. It is also crucial to follow all guidelines and instructions provided by the park rangers and guides to ensure the safety and preservation of the gorillas and their natural habitat. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the termination of your tracking experience without a refund.
