Highlights of the Tour

  • Experience the thrill of encountering Africa's Big Five in their natural habitat, alongside sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and an hour of chimpanzee exploration. This tour includes a memorable stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking and a visit to a vibrant roadside market in Luwero for fresh fruits.

Itinerary

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your driver-guide who will transfer you to the largest conservation area in Uganda. The 5-hour journey offers historical insights into Uganda's liberation wars as you traverse the Luwero Triangle and Nakasongola District. Stop in Luwero's bustling market to experience local life and purchase fresh organic fruits. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, where an evening game drive awaits. Look out for giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelopes such as Jackson's hartebeests, waterbucks, and bushbucks. Arrive at your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Start your day with a game drive, followed by an afternoon boat cruise to the base of the powerful Murchison Falls. Expect to see a range of wildlife, including warthogs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, bushbucks, topis, and kobs. The boat cruise offers a unique perspective, bringing you closer to water-loving animals like crocodiles and hippos, as well as various bird species such as the African fish eagle, malachite kingfisher, hawks, herons, storks, and cormorants.

After breakfast, visit the top of Murchison Falls to witness the sheer force of the world's strongest waterfalls as water channels through a narrow gorge, creating a rainbow. Next, head to Budongo Forest for a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Following a briefing, you'll trek into the forest to observe these fascinating primates, sharing 98% of our DNA. Spend an hour watching the chimps as they move, feed, and groom their young ones. The trek typically lasts 2-3 hours. Return for lunch and relax for the rest of the afternoon.

On your final day, check out after breakfast and head back to Kampala, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you'll have the opportunity to trek the rhinos, which were reintroduced to Uganda after their extinction in the mid-1980s due to poaching. You may also spot other animals such as antelopes, hippos, primates, and various bird species. After the trek, continue to Kampala, enjoy lunch, and receive a drop-off at the airport in Entebbe or at your hotel, concluding your unforgettable tour.
