After breakfast, be picked up from your Kampala hotel and embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy several enroute attractions such as the Uganda Equator, Igongo Cultural Centre, and the picturesque Kigezi terraced highlands. Upon arrival at Bwindi, check in to your safari lodge and prepare for your upcoming gorilla trek.
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing. Receive your trek assignment and join a group of 8 visitors with a park ranger guide to search for the mountain gorillas. The trek can take 2-3 hours, including an hour spent with the gorillas. Enjoy the forest's flora and fauna, including various tree species, birdlife, and other primates. After the trek, return to the park offices to collect your certificate. Then drive back to your lodge for lunch. Following lunch, check out and transfer to Mgahinga National Park, known for its golden monkeys and gorillas. This smaller park spans 331 square kilometers. Check in to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy breakfast before heading to Mgahinga park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Similar to Bwindi, you’ll be guided through the forest in search of gorillas. The trekking experience and timing will mirror that of Bwindi, with a one-hour encounter with the gorillas. Afterward, return to your lodge for lunch and some leisure time.
After breakfast, embark on a journey back to Kampala, stopping at the Equator Monument for a final photo opportunity. Continue to Kampala or Entebbe, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your double gorilla trekking adventure.
